On Bended Knee

On Bended Knee

A Poem by Sharon Miller Bolander

It's a 10/40 written for Tovli's Advanced Ten Word challenge

On Bended Knee

Rose’s perfume, nighttime’s air

Presence of her, my lady fair

Oblivion sweeps cares away

Purer view, clear as glass

Evening sky, softest grass

Serene, I feel; time ticks away

Merciful as love can be,

Will she answer “yes” to me?

Author's Note

Sharon Miller Bolander
I needed to follow this set of rules for the contest.

Rules:
1. Write a poem using all ten words
2. Use exactly forty words
3. The poem must use the words in order (i.e. perfume, first, merciful last)
perfume
splendid
presence
oblivion
purer
glass
sky
serene
two
merciful

Truly enjoy the look of the illustration, it adds so much to the words! Although the words fit the contest requirements, they appear natural, smooth. Good luck!
