Too Many TearsA Poem by Sharon Miller BolanderPieces of tragedy scatter a hate Groomed not to pardon or wane in debate. Fragments of truth mixed with portions of lies, Blacken the rainbows with bombs in the skies. What the world needs now is love sweet love. Guided by visions of men in smart suits, Combat finds soldiers a-marchin' in boots. Thoughts not of strangers or even their own, Seeds of destruction are carelessly sown. What the world needs now is love sweet love. History happens again in repeat Victory's painful and vengeance is sweet. One for the money and two for the show, Plenty to learn for the ones in the know. What the world needs now is love sweet love. Stand at attention; salute to the chief. Where is compassion and where is relief? Hearts have grown heavy, and minds have grown weak. Where is the wisdom the masses do seek?
