Today Is a Gift

Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, that's why we call today the present.

 

Today is a beautiful gift wrapped in glitter and gold

On the tag is your name, yours to have and to hold

 

Inside is your life all vivid and bright

Your hopes and your dreams are such a wonderful sight

 

The buds on the trees; the first sign of spring

A blue jay in the nest with a sweet song to sing

 

In the distance a deer stands at attention

And a tree lined path gives the forest direction

 

A rushing river, a rippling creek and the beauty of a sunset

This is your life; and it’s not over yet.
