Desperate Measures

Desperate Measures

A Poem by Peejay

Keep your hands up where we can see them!
This thing's loaded and ready to bite
I never meant for it to come to this
Imagine what we could've done with a little more guidance...
Maybe that's why we never had it in the first place?
We'd have found a cure instead of a prevention
Something that could never be patented or sold on to the masses
A company that relies on failed livers and car crashes
We all need somewhere to rest our bones  but at that price I want it to be able to re enter the earths atmosphere
Crack the safe and hand over the bags
It's not yours  so what do you care?
I know the dye will render it all useless
If we don't execute this soon it'll all be for nothing
We've become criminals just to make an honest living
There's no return, it's the cost of giving
If I go this alone they'll drag me through the city  but with an army we could all claim tax exempt status
I could've done so much more
It fell on deaf ears
Held hostage by their conservative, xenophobic fears
Now I'll be in the news for all the wrong reasons
Labelled a criminal and a threat to your freedom
This isn't greed
It's the same desperation that can turn a poor farmer into the worlds most wanted man
