White CorridorsA Poem by PeachesWe'll work this out. The worst will come. Surely, it will. But I'll be here for you.
It's almost like heaven
Even more so from the afternoon sun sending it's raze Through glass windows To remind you that life moves without you Outside of these white corridors You patiently wait till she looks your way Your heart mourns for the home inside her heart Almost everyday you've come to visit her Your tired eyes smile at her You've only had maybe 5 hours of sleep She finally looks toward your side in the blank colourless sheets she sleeps in That remind you more of death than pure innocence She turns to look at you, relieved, she finds familiarity You ask her about her day What you've been doing How work is going How you're handling the bills for the house You tell her, her parents are coming to visit You tell her everything is going to be alright One day, She'll get out of this One day, you'll both go to Scotland You two have to travel and have many more adventures, One day But as I stare behind the glass Watching your tired efforts You eagerly bend forward on your chair I know what you don't I wish I could break it to you Without breaking your heart The car crash you were in left her dead You're wife is not actually there You're all alone Talking to yourself You're the one trapped between the white corridors
