longingA Poem by Peaches Rose
a lonely girl roams a long road
leading to the lone tower in the grassland. she walks on the road staring at the sky, the trees, birds and streetlights. begging them to answer the questions who mercilessly stalk her. longing for respite from the chaos of the past whirling in her soul. she seeks replies to the letters she wrote to God with her silence. she longs, she walks alone. she walks day and night her only occupation these days. travelling to where the long road cant take her longing to get out and away from the tragic monotony of her life. longing to meet faces showing something other than curiosity or questions. she talks to herself, they say when she knits stories and weaves characters. she longs, she walks alone. she walks and walks until her feet are sore and the pain pulls her out. she walks and walks until the night starts to warn and the threats of darkness are severe. she goes home, meeting sarcastic smiles or pitiful eyes. she sees but pretends to ignore. she smiles, struggles inside all alone she longs and longs. she is held by weakness and disappoint; afraid to venture she has let her friends go and befriended the road. hoping that someday her reverie will come to fruition hoping her dear characters don't go into oblivion, unnoticed. impatient, she dreads her loneliness and the road. yet she walks and longs alone. she longs to be more more than a lonely roamer a victim of rumors a sight for lechers. she longs to explore more than the lonely road wanting to get out of this, to be free longing to be more than she has been not knowing what or how but she longs to be something more so hoping she smiles and walks the road.
