Palestine

Palestine

A Poem by MIKE
"

Israel refers to the wall built on Palestinian land as a fence. I see it as a symbol of the reasoning that Palestinians are up against.

"

Palestine

You could hear a mother’s cry

As the home came crashing down

The dozer’s engine roared

As their home came crashing down

But now we’ve lost the sky

Came a mourning mother’s cry

As the ugly wall grew taller

And both sun and son were gone

Can the world not see the suffering?

Came the mourning mother’s cry

And the mothers of the world

Can’t they see our children die?

Must the horror go unnoticed?

On the painful trip through time

Each day, a day of sentence

For an undetermined crime

I hear the voice of Rachel Corey

It blows free throughout the land

When the world reviews her story

Will they finally make a stand?

The word is only whispered

But the truth is known world wide

Silence may console

But we see the

GENOCIDE

I commend you on this brave, well penned write.
Yes, "the word is only whispered" and yes, "the truth is known world wide" but, hypocrisy stays silent, and many fear to speak up in case of being branded as anti "this" or anti- "that". The rape of these people continues while "Peace" is pathetically paraded for the people who are doing the rape.
