The Taste of Falling Rain
The taste of falling rain Still lingers on my lips Reminding me of pain More harshly felt than whips. The sadness seen around Me was what did me in " The pain was so profound And death had claimed its win. I knew that you were gone, I did not shed a tear. But when I saw the dawn I wept in child’s fear " For dawn, foreboding red, Remembering your rhyme, Was when you took to bed " Expect rain not sublime. It rained that day you died, You prob’ly didn’t know. As everyone had cried I watched it fall and so The taste of falling rain Still lingers on my lips Reminding me of pain More harshly felt than whips © 2017 PeacefulPiecesAuthor's Note
