Life is a Dream

Life is a Dream

A Poem by Raven Lightner
"

This is an Extended Metaphor Poem, according to my L.A. teacher. I think I write a lot of these without even knowing about it. XD

"

I walk through the halls of Hell,

Stepping around lost souls,

Or torturers,

In the midst of the worst nightmare

Ever.

I walk into Math,

Seeing them all happy and smiling,

Feeling the need to take that all away

By sharing the pain you put me

T…H…R…O…U…G…H.

I walk through mist

On my way to choir,

Glad for the escape into nothingness.

No life.

No dreams.

Just music,

                       Singing,

                                                And belonging.

I go to lunch, then go to more classes,

Then home.

I walk through sun or rain,

Heat or Snow.

I go home, I sleep.

Life is a Dream…

AND DREAMS ARE REALITY.
