ForbiddenA Poem by Lonely Islander...Forbidden Is it just fate, Or the positive force of nature That interferes
in what could be Our eternal dance?
Is it the blockage in our voice boxes, Or the utmost fear of society And our delicate reputation That keeps our lips tight shut?
Is it the thought of rusting away, Or the fear of their disgusted looks That keeps you at a distance?
Is it me? Is it you? Is it us?
Maybe it’s the law of nature That we only remain well-wishers Maybe it’s society Or my virtue and conscience That’s responsible for the pain.
Maybe it’s the fact that you are more of an inspiration A support or a base Maybe it’s the fact that I don’t really love you Maybe it’s the fact that you probably never even
thought about loving me.
Yes it’s me Yes it’s you And although it hurts a little, We are always going to be Two completely different souls And whatever feelings I have inside for you Will always remain confined in my tiny self In a little cage Forbidden.
