Fake

Fake

A Poem by Pawprints

You'd like to think you knew me
You'd like to think you cared

The way you'd say goodnight
The way you'd kiss my hair

But I know what it was
And I know what you did

You stole me away once more

For now I can see
What was hidden from me

Your voice my charming lure

Now you've broken your words
You've lied yet again

You've chopped me to bits
You see?

Because now that you're done
Now that I know

You've roasted me to a third degree

Thank you, and yes, love is certainly a two sided blade.
For not rhyming intentionally, the rhyme scheme turned out pretty cool. :P I love when that happens. I can also relate to this one, the last line's image really sticks with you. Very nice!

~ very heartfelt and poignant poetry, M. ... ~ i've dealt with my share of fake and false people and they're definitely disturbing... i don't hate them... i just feel sad for them...
