Freckles

These stars on my skin

These speckles of gold

What scatters across me

Like droplets of honey 

Crinkling when I laugh

Darkening into chocolate 

While I bask in the sun

I used to hate these

These gorgeous splatters of dots

But now I see that they're mine

And I love them
