Wait For Me There...

Wait For Me There...

A Poem by Paul

Let ne’er a single thought of me pass by,

Without a gentle gleam-light in your smile;

Or that soft, tender glowing from your eye,

That sends my heartbeat dancing all the while.

Even when you’re lying silently still,

Ere you drift-off in summer's soft goodnight,

Despite us stranded, half a world apart...

Lie longing for me with you, warm and tight.

See me waiting, open arms to hold you,

With my crooked-tooth, gregarious grin,

O' how I’ve dreamed of this idyllic day...

To have your warmth rest tranquil on my skin,

Into your pleasant night of slumber drift…

Then, picture us together so in-love,

That all the stars for us have come aligned,

The heavens shifted for us up above

Soft, sweet visions of me there before you,

Sleep well, My Love, deep into darkness late,

’Til beauty of bright morning's sun shines through,

Where kisses from my tender lips await.

Oh Paul I loved it all the way it is so beautiful it made my heart sing to think of someone special writing a poem like this for me sighhh -- and how tender and easy the words moved inside me with perfect rhymes and romance to melt me in my socks lol! i think I am going to like you. ;)
I can see Richards help in it too but the wonderful parts I can tell are yours alone, you are a wonderful writer Paul -- thank you and thanks for your sweet review of my Colorado Dreams poem and your friend request which I accepted btw! :)

Sure thing Paul. Great Job indeed.
Paul,
This is a most entreating piece that literally implores your love to be there for you, to earnestly bide by your tender romantic behests.
What warmblooded lady could resist such irresistible allure?
Thought the bones of this piece are certainly solid, something in me wants to boldly, almost compellingly, revise its more refined state, but I dare not be so rude. Still, if you'd like my input, I'll be quite happy to give it. : )

Whatever, My Friend, it's a work of the heart, from the core of your being, and I love it true … thank you for such a generous sharing! ⁓ Richard

Oops!! LOL! Thanks for letting me know!
this reminds me of some of my long distance relationships...going to sleep dreaming of the other.
sometimes those dreams are all we have, just a figurative touch, when the real thing is so far away.
