LIFEA Poem by Secondhand sunrise
What is life?
Is it personal freedom? Is your soul everlasting? Or will it fade into the darkness? I would love to fill your life with hope, Make sure you feel nothing but happiness. Before you pop the pill that you call freedom, Think about the impression you will leave behind, is it everlasting? Will your memory burn bright like an inferno in the darkness? Or have you run out of hope, Out of the thirst for happiness? Ask yourself the question, "should I really be alive?" No one's lives are everlasting, They say that no one looks forward to the darkness, When you run out of hope, And there is no happiness. You look back, at what you call your life, And look forward to what you call freedom. Your soul is enveloped in darkness, You have gotten rid of everything, even your hope. The last thing to waste away is your happiness. You envy your acquaintances lives, And wish they could taste your chance at freedom. You know they will because nothing is everlasting. Ask yourself, "what is hope?" Is it the want for happiness? Or the need to live your life. You taste the pill, the freedom, And feel the everlasting, Darkness. The pill, the freedom, it fills you with happiness. You go through the scenes of your own life, And are enveloped by the freedom. Now it's everlasting. You kiss the darkness, And say goodbye to your hope. Your life is done as your freedom punches you in the stomach, Your acquaintances gather around you, after you fall into the everlasting darkness. Their hope, happiness, and pleas for you are wasted on the deaf ears of the dead. © 2013 Secondhand sunriseAuthor's Note
