Contempt concealed

Contempt concealed

A Poem by Paul williams

Forehead sweating,
I fidget with the corner of the page
Fumbling of humbling beginnings
the day im yet to face.
Eyes cant hide the pointless tragedy
Fearless strength now a distant memory
Ill state my case
Warm in your embrace
Until the leaves fall on my path.
Failure awaits
The selfish hate,
that commiserate
A shallow bath.
Yet still i await
To feel your soft touch upon my shoulder
No lightning seed can feel
Your bare electricity
Silently i taste the dust
Built up in this house concealed
In the love i know
Sun rays i trace
Warm inner glow
Pride over haste
To the life i live,
to the life i know.
