Long gone yesterdayA Poem by Paul williams
Long gone yesterday
Dont run with your head When your heart starts to cry, If the child in you wont sleep, Sing yourself a lullaby. Everytime you seek devotion, And your actions fail to follow, Dont blame your yesterday, For your lonely tired tomorrow. Dont do what you once did, If you did it wrong before. Change your path to find the new, To find the unlocked open door. And mark your way by smiling, At those smirking passers by, That shake you by your hand, Without looking in your eye. The saxaphone wont sound the same, The pianist will fail to play, Your once loved song of sadness, Your long gone yesterday. Embrace the wind of change before, The sun loses its ray, Back to your once loved song of sadness, Back to Your long gone yesterday. Before you write your future, Change your perception of here and now, And make changes if it feels right, Regardless if morals do allow. Dont inhale fake emotion, If breathing out becomes too tough, Stop yourself if you know, The 2 flamed candles had enough. The saxaphone wont sound the same, The pianost will fail to play, Your once loved song of sadness, Your long gone yesterday. Embrace the wind of change before, The sun loses its ray, Back to your once loved song of sadness, Back to Your long gone yesterday. © 2014 Paul williamsAuthor's Note
