A Word On SoundA Poem by Pauline
Such music I heard which seemed to augment And change my concentrated train of thought Mixtures of tones that blended with movement into my eye, such notions it brought The gurgling water swirling round rocks Flapping and lapping around willowy reeds The shepherd calling to lamb bleating flocks The mellowing whisper of grass and weeds A song thrush competes with a nightingale So pleasant the lilt it was to my ear Psalms from the nuns floated o’er the dale Such majestic sound so heavenly clear The base tone of boots on grit on the lane The satisfied sigh treading home again © 2022 PaulineAuthor's Note
