Mo Chroi

Mo Chroi

A Poem by Pauline

Ahh. Mo chroi,  (my heart) said he

Do not kiss me on the forehead

Or mix my drink with medicine

My eyes may be rheumy but they

Read your tell-tale face

But her with the painted lips

And the sagging cheeks

Crossed her spider legs

And merely smiled

The dance of youth almost forgotten

Of that long ago life

Yet the engine’s rhythm

Still throws out a spark now and then

Eyes closed hands touching

She hums their tune

Lips caress the back of her hand

And his voice whispers

Do you remember our first night

Yes my love I do

They say life is short and so it is

And we’ve shortened ours by miles

But delectably so my love

Delectably so

What an incredibly touching love poem dear Pauline. A love story told here, from first met through the years. Through sickness and health. Those were the promises once made. Your final lines show the love has lasted. Dear Pauline you are a wonderful poet. I think this one shines above all others of yours I have read over the years. Hope you are ok my poetry friend.
