Remembrance DayA Poem by PaulineIn their thousands they shook the dice Rattled it ten thousand times thrice Flung them into the cordite sky Faster than the blink of an eye From burning sands to lethal ice They rattled and rolled ten thousand times thrice The gaming board, this sad, sad world For civilization the stake was hurled Against the snarling bark of servitude These gamblers, an uncommon brood; Hurled and swirled, won and lost Until the final dice was tossed And on its side these words were spun Rejoice, rejoice, the victory is won. © 2021 PaulineFeatured Review
