Fickle PassionA Poem by PaulineDid think
your very soul you gave to me The passion
in your breath fired my heart so Yet my eyes
beheld and saw not, what was thee. It was
naught but lust clasped around your heart That stirred
the blood to gushing through your veins And I in
greenness yielded up my part Then left, (a
guiltless victim wrought with pains.) Love, unlike
passion does not walk away Nor craze
the mind, nor make to spill the gut Nor does it
fall to laughter at its prey Nor lay
false words upon the tongue to strut. Now I have
come full circle I have learned Love, unlike
fickle passion must be earned. © 2021 PaulineFeatured Review
