Whirlwind Affair

Whirlwind Affair

A Poem by Pauline

We flew, you and I

To galaxies beyond the stars,

(Where the mind cannot even imagine)

Way past Saturn and over Mars.

With bated breath we journeyed

Up and up we swirled and swirled

Through the barriers we soared

Beyond the realms of consciousness we twirled

Though as gently as you came to me

To sate my appetite this dawn

You melted away to my satisfaction

But we’ll meet again. (come tomorrow’s morn)

I was once asked to write a poem about a bar of chocolate. This was the result.

Reading your author's note made me smile. A love poem to chocolate. But of course. I allow myself two squares of dark chocolate a day (sometimes more, I admit).

I cut my allowance to two squares too. Any more than that gives me a upset tummy.
Thanks for .. read more

Yes, I ate 4 or 5 squares yesterday, then I had trouble sleeping during the night.

About
I've been writing poetry for some time now. It allows me to escape some of the doldrums of life. I also paint when life allows me some quiet time. I wouldn't say I was great at either passtimes but I.. more..
