Reverie

Reverie

A Poem by Pauline

Let me sleep somewhere atop this mountain fair

Close by the sky, breath in the purest air

With chin in hands gaze out to all around

Made dizzy by miss nature’s harmonious sound

Listen to the gurgle of some nearby rill

Tell of its melodies, so tender still.

Look down upon God’s colourful meadow

With not a hint of darkened shadow

And when eventide comes a-calling

I’ll watch the blue mist gently falling

Then fall to sleep and dream beyond surmise

Of strange lands and unfamiliar skies

Would that I could live within this reverie

And see the things no others will ever see

I think I would like to join you Pauline atop that mountain, so we can gaze together and take in the beauty of the environment. Sitting there where no others have sat before, looking down on the earth's floor and staring at the cloud islands floating by.. A lovely piece of reverie.

About
I've been writing poetry for some time now. It allows me to escape some of the doldrums of life. I also paint when life allows me some quiet time. I wouldn't say I was great at either passtimes but I.. more..
