Night Is For Turning

Night Is For Turning

A Poem by Pauline

Like a corner of a page

That begins to curl backward

Revealing the next stage of the tale

So too, the edges of night begin to turn

As darkness bids good-day to the shore of dawn.

And as the heaving darkness

Plummets back to earth

The ether in unrestrained delight

Dances with the light

And my thoughts begin to stir

Which in turn give birth to colour

In this depth solitude

Which is the very soul of the earth

My breath takes wing

And proffers up a prayer of gratitude

And a hope that I may be granted

A life of compassion

Mild of manner

And abundant in love

Gee
I read this as I lay in bed, my wife away for the weekend back to Scotland to see friends,. I have watched the dawning day through half closed shutters and can very much relate to your words.
This bed of mine is far to big without my wife, I'm not good at being on my lonesome :)

About
I've been writing poetry for some time now. It allows me to escape some of the doldrums of life. I also paint when life allows me some quiet time. I wouldn't say I was great at either passtimes but I.. more..
