Night Is For TurningA Poem by PaulineLike a
corner of a page That begins
to curl backward Revealing
the next stage of the tale So too, the
edges of night begin to turn As darkness
bids good-day to the shore of dawn. And as the
heaving darkness Plummets
back to earth The ether in
unrestrained delight Dances with
the light And my
thoughts begin to stir Which in
turn give birth to colour In this depth
solitude Which is the
very soul of the earth My breath
takes wing And proffers
up a prayer of gratitude And a hope
that I may be granted A life of
compassion Mild of manner And abundant
