Falling Through the LiesA Poem by Pauline Marie DaleySometimes its hard to decipher truth from lies...Hearts are made to be broken, Tears are made to cry, Wrists are made for cutting, People are made to die, Wars are made for peace, Kids are meant to kill, Girls are meant to be raped, And governments promote God's will. Why do you bother? Every word is a lie. Poision shoots from your lips, Why do you even try? Boxes are made to live in, Money is made to hoard, Countries are made to die for, Oil is meant to lord. Blood is meant to spill, Cars are made to crash, Food is meant to starve for, Sorry if my words are rash. But the people can't live A life that is fake. Why do you bother? Why do you lie? Hearts are meant to be filled! People are meant to fly! Flying high with your hidden lies, Soaring above the clouds, Then screaming as you break my wings, And I crash toward the ground. And as I fall I pass, Every lie I've been taught, And I realize that it is you I should have fought. Why do you bother? Every word is a lie. Poision shoots from your lips, Maybe people - are meant to die. ~by Pauline Marie Daley November 5th, 2008 © 2008 Pauline Marie DaleyFeatured Review
