Somebody's Else's StarA Poem by Pauline Marie DaleySometimes if you really love someone, you have to give them up.I love you. Three words that for you alone hold true. But three could be three thousand, And I still couldn't say them to you. We follow the same road to life, But you're in a different lane. I cry out and try to reach you, so I might, In eternity with you remain.
Watching you climb our mountain so high, Your strength, your might, for me? Wishing that the peak could puncture the sky. Rejoicing at the top, just you and me.
But a fork divides our path just up ahead. And I can't see around the bend. But whereever you, by your path are led, Know that you'll always be my best friend. So as I sit here alone, wondering where you are, I realize that you just might have to be, somebody else's star.
