You Don't KnowA Poem by Pauline Marie DaleyI wish you could stop breaking my heart. But you don't know the damage you've done. You look at her like she's the light of your life. Creating you, sustaining you, outshining the sun. And as I watch you long for her, as I secretly long for you, You offer your heart to her as mine, slowly splits in two. I wish I could tell you about these, feelings that I hide. Because I know I'm losing you as you, move closer to her side. But you're in love, you've made your choice. So I settle for the sound of your voice, That mends my heart and dries my tears. Me just sitting, willing our days to turn to years. But knowing that this can't be the case. Because I know the contours of your face. She makes you so happy, like I only wish I could. She'd be so lucky, if only she would, Only then would she really start living. I wish you would stop breaking my heart. You'll never know the damage you've done. © 2008 Pauline Marie DaleyReviews
