I wonder how I manage to stay,

Could be so cruel

To take away my life

That could have been so cool.

I like these lyrics. They capture a desire that is common to youth in general - the desire to be free. Yet, there is much more here. There seems to be a desire to escape domestic abuse, and that, in itself, is very disturbing.

On a technical note, you should edit this piece a little to remove spelling errors. Also, in the second to the last stanza, you use the word "cool" in the line, "Could be so cool." I wondered if you really meant to write "cruel" instead of "cool."

I don't want to be to picky though. I like this poem regardless. Excellent work, Pauline! I wish that I could have heard the music that went with these lyrics. =o)
