Stay Golden

Stay Golden

A Poem by Paul Velora

While she slept in the depths
We all slept amongst the stars
Comets were coming,
We were waiting for ours.

Distantly we saw the curve
Of the lighted, smoking, trail
Quietly, she kept sleeping
Under that cold lit veil.

Awake! the sea cried to her
Can you not see all that's above?
The comets they're coming,
Yet you sleep my love.

Resting still upon her starlit vein
The sea watched, wild, unfurled
Barely contained, it's patience
Yet she slept on, the girl.

Those comets came, leaping
And we all jumped from our perch
Through the air and out of the sky
Together now, we rest next to her.

Ah, romanticism, and yet also very classic. Nice combination.
We miss quite a bit not looking up into the night sky anymore. There's a lot to be said up there...

I like.
There is so many ways to interpret this poem, it 's really daunting to the reasons I've come up with. Thank you for making me think, but that was probably my over active imagination.
