New Life.

New Life.

A Poem by Paul Bell

It was in the laundrette

Sure it was

The clothes were going round and round

The red underwear

Came to the fore

Just as red underwear was intended

At that moment

It defined her

Going round and round

She left them that way

They would find a new home in time

Just like her

Going round and round.

I was attracted by the title as I was given a new life at a point, at a moment - and everything changed. I love how there is the feeling of that moment in the poem .. from the "washing machine head" to the moment of realisation and the certainty of change.

Yeah, bold is good, change is moving on.
Red is hot! She'll have many new homes and the perks of being red hot! Why settle for anything less when one can be numero uno?

Definitely, that girl is going places, number one is her aim, new lingerie her game.

Whoa.
The dame knows it pays not to be tame!
Sounds like a life in confusion; going around in circles and without a plan or aim. It's something I can relate to. We all have moments like this where life seems mundane and we go through the motions. It's always important to come out well washed from such episodes and equally important to separate the whites from the colours....especially the reds! Such an interesting poem, Paul. 💛

The adventures of laundry. Reminds me of the song " Dirty Laundry" By Don Henly . Keep writing loved the details of red underwear flying a bit humorous. I needed that for tonight thanks for that :) Sincerely your friend in writing and life
