Euphoria.

Euphoria.

A Poem by Paul Bell

She thought it a very strange sensation

Watching the man on platform 5

Then she pushed him in front of the 1505 express

That pretty blond girl with the selfie stick

The one that every guy desires, yeah that one

She stabbed her seven times

It felt so real, her head was buzzing

Her nagging neighbour

She could see herself choking the life out of her

God, what a high

The ex-boyfriend who called her the b***h from hell

The garden fork entered his neck

Take those words back she screamed

She realised the fork in his neck was stopping him from speaking

She pulled it out, he seemed like he was sorry alright

What euphoria, it was like her subconscious was in total overdrive

She watched as ten police cars screamed to a halt outside her building

Jesus, what crazy b*****d are they after this time

She couldn’t wait to see who it was

The excitement was overwhelming….

Quite a disturbing tale, Paul. Perhap she had too much sugar on her cereal before heading off that morning....though its surprisingly relatable. While not this extreme, i have had my moments where i could visualise giving certain people a good slap in the head on occasion. Sometimes it is warranted. I'll leave the pitchfork work to your protagonist, real or imagined. 💛

Definitely, on Monday mornings a slap is usually warranted at the train station.
I must admit I've had fantasies similar to this about our glory-seeking hate-filled dictator in the USA. When he supposedly got covid, a surprising number wished him dead, such that, it's impossible not to ponder the possibilities (as you've done so temptingly here). But I wouldn't want Pence as prez, after he's had his head up Trump's a*s for 4 years. I'm sorry for my disgusting fantasies, but you started it. It's dangerous & socially unacceptable to unleash our true inclinations! (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie

I know, how many times does it enter your head, I think I'll just top him, just for the hell of it.
What a great fantasy! This shows the extreme behavior in people, thinks we think of but never do. You show such vengeance on her part; it almost feels real; I think that Trump fantasizes about taking us all down with him!! Great write! Best, Betty

What a coupe here Paul! Your totally amped-up scenario deftly portrays the kind of zombie apocalypse and dissociatively violent red-rage type of incidents and riots that seem to be prevalent these days. These ‘No-Thinkers’ invading and leavIng nothing but scorched earth in their murderous wake. Your deftly characterized ‘She’ wreaks vengeance on all who she perceives as having wronged her. And very graphically too- She is like a Bride of Chuckie doll in the flesh. Is this what will be left when all rationality is abandoned in these days? Hmmmm.

this is such a write to relate to...all the things we have fantasized doing and wish we had the courage or craziness to do them.

I can't believe this has no reviews...it is so clever.
