The Spell CasterA Poem by Paul BellI think it was her mental health Well, to begin with anyway She was always slightly weird in a weird sort of way One day she decided she was a witch Great big pointy hat and broom Casting spells in all directions Made big Joe infertile Kept pointing to his groin, infertile, infertile Then she got even weirder Decided she was pregnant Kept it up for months Even the bump got bigger Though the weird thing was A baby appeared It was decided this baby wasn’t by magic People looked at big Joe in a different light now In a weird way Like maybe, he wasn’t infertile after all, and She wasn’t casting spells She was casting aspersions. © 2020 Paul BellReviews
