The Replacement.

The Replacement.

A Poem by Paul Bell

She never thought of it as an affair

She didn’t even particularly like the guy

He certainly wasn’t any better in bed than her husband

She just liked the different approach to love making

Sooner or later she would get bored with him too

But strangely enough

That was exciting

Thinking about his replacement.

The writer succeeded very clearly in depicting the perceptions of few in relationships. The interesting fact is when writer describe it seems like not pointing towards no one for blame game. That is one among the millions views about this writing may project.

Correct, no one to blame, just life that goes on.
How many love affairs did the husband have before She retaliated in a drunken state? lol You write about this aspect of sexuality as if it were dull and redundant, do you really believe it's mundane?

This describes my approach to partners in my 20's . . . not married, I was never faithful to my "main squeeze," (that's as far as I could go, regarding "commitment") . . . I was (and still am) highly energized by the differences between male physicality, sexual behavior, mind games, all of it. As the old saying goes, variety is the spice of life! I love it when a writer describes characteristics which, to some, may seem to be stinging (David Klay, below, says "Ouch."), but it's just a normal, even predominant approach to life, & most people don't choose to see how the things you highlight in writing happen all the time! I love your fresh honesty! (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie

Out with the old in with the new.
Women are taking no prisoners now.
Ouch. This certainly isn't gender specific. The title and write go well together. Easy to read and well written.

She's sort of short and sweet.
ahahaha she's a wild one that one is! her satisfaction a conundrum ... already replacing the replacement .. a cycle of addiction says i .. no good outcome i could imagine ..except she gets really bored and quits ;} especially like the straight forward language ..nothing flowery about the situation ..fits well says i! so few lines and you spin a complete scene swirling in emotion .. piques my interest that the narrator is either an observer or perhaps the first replaced ... great read for me Paul..thanks for sharing!

She's a sort of hello goodbye girl, even if you didn't realise you were getting replaced.
oh wow! ok that doesn't get any harsher - but I suppose fair in this instance. A lot said in such a small poem, well done Paul

Yeah! It is a quick relationship.
I guess some people are never happy no matter what you do. They grow tired fast and move on to the next one. People are novelties sometimes.

Yip, some are looking for what's not there.
