The End.

The End.

A Poem by Paul Bell

Pretty boring, mostly just

Quite unconcerned, never first

Time for thinking, sometimes

Moving slowly backwards

Quite unusual, never thinking

Got to go slow, no feeling

Nerves on end willpower going

Life on end, worry not

Got to go slow, quietly deafening

No sense begging, not right

Go quietly happy, no thoughts

Must be changing, hurry none

No feeling, moving slowly backwards

Quite calm, the silence so good

Must have gone, most becoming.

clever my friend ...strong use of repetition in this one says i! also nicely and clearly universal as the "End" can be so many things to people ... difficult thing to recognize an ending ... love the wisdom you express to take it slow...back up a bit and try to see more clearly ... and i absolutely love this:
"....the silence so good" ... as your protagonist experiences some success ... "...most becoming" indeed ... the cerebral qualities of this challenge me to dive in and get what i get ..so well done says i

Your poem Paul is calming and slows down in tempo. So I too think it's preparation for meditation. We all have busy lives and it is good for our health to get some balance back in to the picture. I actually find it really hard to block all thoughts out because my mind wanders too freely. Maybe I need to start practicing more?

Slow is just the new fast with attitude.
This poem could cover so many emotions and experiences in life. I could probably read this today, tomorrow and another day and in each instance take away something different.. I’m still trying to figure it out, but to me, in this moment, I’m picking up the flavors of indifference, ambivalence.. nonchalant questioning of whether to act on something or remain still.. boredom... hesitancy... lackluster cynicism. Either way, it is certainly brooding and dark in tone. The phrasing and sound of your words altogether though is fantastic. Great writing, Paul!
