Bottle of Vodka, one knitting needle We only sell knitting needles in pairs. Of Course, you do. All good things come in pairs. Would you like a bag for life, save the planet. A bag for life would be wonderful.
He lied, she thought. But that was just typical of men. She should show him the bag. You said it was a bag for life. But it’s not. Look inside, you lied.
She sure didn’t feel good Blood and blob The Vodka did the job Flush the lie Now she could die
She didn’t die Just cried It didn’t help Just the way she felt
Time moves on Secret stays hidden Tomorrow's another day Just another day But life is strange
He noticed she was heavily pregnant Nice to see you’re still saving the planet Yes, we all have to do our part A bag for life Treasured possession.
I can't even imagine a mind that would come at this topic in such an amazingly "out-there" creative, yet so realistic way! I know this experience from up close & at several different angles, so I can attest that you've nailed the balance of reactions perfectly. Even if it's the best choice that you never regret, it's still a little haunting memory that never dies. Even when other children follow, it's always a woman's first that's remembered. You have the most exquisite grasp of deep human nature of any writer on this website (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie

i was amazed at the twist towards the end.. the poem talks about a lot of things but i never guessed that the unborn child was the exact answer, at least my mind worked on this poem thanks for this
Eek! This made me shudder! Not because it is bad, because it is so good that the images it conjured up were intensely vivid.
Very thoughtful and thought provoking. It makes its point like a ten pound sledge hammer hitting a finishing nail!
Well done, Paul.

Ouch! No, it didn't bring a tear to my eye, but it did make me cross my legs! :)
If I raise the topic of women's rights... people will scream murder, when women resort to knitting needle, it is dangerous for both of them . Why can't these people who talk about rights of a fetus adopt orphans ? That will do some good in the world.

The knitting needle didn't work, and a healthy baby was born. But a womans body is hers. I never moralise. Wouldn't be happy with someone telling me what to with my body. There are circumstances, granted. But most people are mature enough to make their own decisions.
Is it a true story? How does she feel about the baby now?

Well, she went on to have two more.
Though, she was the special one.

I like poetry and stories that tell me something.
Sometimes the shortest poems hit the hardest.
