A Poem by Paul Bell

The song hit the radio

Her song

Driving into his head

Telling him

What was it telling him

She could get to him

Anywhere, anytime

Switch her off

Smash his fist against the radio

She would find another way

Drinking in the bar

Someone would put her on

Like they knew

She’d get through

Playing her games

In his head

The song hit the radio

When he shot her dead

Now he was playing his song

In his head.

A great story unfolds in this poem

Posted 6 Years Ago

Sonic murder he wrote...clipped, static lines and great metaphor in this poem. The explosive rage and violence of “Her song..Driving into his head” is deafening and percussive. You make us feel the buildup of his emotion leading to the lethal act. He just couldn’t handle her playlist anymore....boom!

Never tamper with a mans playlist.
what is really that song? that old memories can come back and reminiscing the painful past can still affect the person beautifully written but i am still curious about the song.

that's good to know, you already have the title of the poem
we can smash all the radios we want, but that song will still play in our heads...she will still play in our heads...can't get used to losing her...and can't get rid of her memory...
everywhere we go we will see reminders, and hear reminders.
interesting that Radio Wake inspired this..this being the more violent of the two...but just as real, if not, more so.

It's the medium of radio, unconsciously walking with you.
Oh dear! Paul, another femicide?
