Rock n Roll

Rock n Roll

A Poem by Paul Bell

It’s only Rock n roll baby, so heavy

Listen to the words

Don’t they tell you something

They say I was wrong

Hear me baby, cos I die tonight

Rock n roll baby, so heavy

Roll me another joint, and I’ll tell you about my life

The story of my death

But don’t fret baby, it’s only Rock n roll

So heavy, listen to the words

They say, give into hell and sin

Make believe people go insane

Pop a few pills, Rock n roll

Listen to the words of my final epitaph

But don’t fret baby

It's only Rock n roll.

The story of the life is the story of the death.....quite the concept. It's only rock n roll, but I like it! Sex, drugs, and rock n roll....the slogan for a different era really. Still, the music framed my life and so many others.....it still does. Well written. Lydi**

Thanks Lydia
this almost feels like a biography of Mick Jagger...

yes, "it's only rock and roll but i like it like it yes i do"

i have grown up with rock and roll...had all of Elvis' first singles on 45's---the doo wop....the British Invasion...i definitely have the music in me...and this poem in me.

i gladly go insane...singing my last notes to my last breath.
