I draw you in Five rings of smoke appear like magic Your face on every one Christ how romantic am I Maybe drink a JD in your honour It's amazing how little things bring you to me The phone comes alive halfway through your honour Your soft sexy voice sends a tingle down my spine You say it's over Well, that was out of the blue I draw you in The sign on the packet Smoking can damage your health and eventually kill you So profound I check the bottle of JD No warning on that You disappear into the clouds Every one a silver lining.
and when those silver linings lose their sheen...we often don't notice, we just drown ourselves in whatever, and imbibe memories as if they were "right now"---
If a man cannot spend the rest of his life with the woman he loves, at least he is free to spend the rest of his life getting over her, one smooth drink at a time ... Nicely done, and true to life ...
Wow! This is so good. I love how you swung from the positive to the negative but found positivity in that. A silver lining always shines when viewed in the right light. Well done!
A silver lining of sexy voice... The sign on your packet...? Red... Oh wait, maybe that is me, smoking can kill you, the blue certainly will... Profoundly penned...
This makes me feel like I'm sitting on a bar stool in this place, with the haze of cigarettes from more than one "lost soul in love" hanging in the air. I feel like I'm being nosy, observing him so closely to the point where even I feel the shock, when I vaguely hear the soft voice in his phone say "it's over." Ouch. I would buy him a drink, but he already has one. Oh well. You really pulled us in with this, amazing work!

Amazing poem...
Love the structure and its rhyme scheme
Thr imagery is great and the person youve portrayed here seems super romantic and deep
Yet seems to worry about how love does come with a price sometimes
Excellent imagery and cowboy-Kerouak style. Clean lines, self-deprecating, guarded but revealing emotional depth, "Christ how romantic I am". Love it,but remember- not every dangerous thing sports a warning label...Ha!
