Love Smoke

Love Smoke

A Poem by Paul Bell

I draw you in
Five rings of smoke appear like magic
Your face on every one
Christ how romantic am I
Maybe drink a JD  in your honour
It's amazing how little things bring you to me
The phone comes alive halfway through your honour
Your soft sexy voice sends a tingle down my spine
You say it's over
Well, that was out of the blue
I draw you in
The sign on the packet
Smoking can damage your health and eventually kill you
So profound
I check the bottle of JD
No warning on that
You disappear into the clouds
Every one a silver lining.

Sometime JD, our only safe friend.
"I check the bottle of JD
No warning on that
You disappear into the clouds
Every one a silver lining."
I liked the complete poem and I enjoyed the above lines. Realistic place to know. Thank you Paul for sharing the amazing poetry.

JD can and I did like the poem.
Let us be honest. Life, can really suck. Yet, in those moments where life seems utterly pointless. That is where we grow the most. In our heartbreaks we must remain strong. Everything bad has a good. Just gotta look for it. Thank you for the wonderful writing.

Yip, love is around every corner.
Your poem points out that there is a silver lining to every heartbreak. Even with such pain, at least we are alive and able to experience the ups and downs of life.

I like the repeated line "I draw you in" to describe how love can consume us in times of elation and in depression. Like smoking, love can be addictive and even fatal. Best to move on to greener pastures!

Read the Pony. It's new.
Love Smoke is amazing. As to your previous review on of my poems, I write music. All of my work is meant to be heard. I sang this beautiful poem with musical notes. I shall share if interested. I love how real you are.

Like to poem itself, the title perfectly defines what love is and what it can do to you.

There never is one last cigarette is there; and least, not until it's too late.

Very much enjoyed this.
