My Friend

I thought of you today, just a thought and now it’s gone away,

A passing thought of memories held dear, sadness or laughter bring only a tear.

One day I’ll ask you why you felt you could not stay and I often wonder what you will say.

I thought of you today, just a thought and now it’s gone away.

Hi P.A.

I stumbled upon your poem Autumn as I published a Haiku called autumn yesterday. I like your one line poem Autumn and I also like this poem, My Friend. I am new to writers cafe and new to ratings. Free style poetry is hard to review as in my opinion you either like it or you don´t. It either speaks to you or it doesn´t.
It´s not knowing why a dear one takes their own life that´s hard to live with. Depression is so misunderstood at times. People often look just fine. I have a friend who is severely depressed and I can't begin to imagine the awful place he is in within himself.

The Poetry Foundation is an expert resource though I find some of their published work is complex and complicated but worth a visit. poetryfoundation.org. Never knew so many different types/classifications of poetry exist. You can find the classifications on their site. Usually I like the simple poetry best.
