Darfur

I believe that we need to help the people in Darfur it is a major issue in the world!!

Do I close the blinds

Look between the lines

see whats there

and do you care?
for yes i do

Because the place is darfur

full of rape and murder

no government taking place

to tackle the challenge face to face

people wanted it for quiet some time

because ignoring it is like eating lime

if we dont help it will be an international disgrace

everything will be out of place

500 people die per day

as i look at it in dismay

with thousands of lives at bay

people ignore it day by day

bodies everywhere

burnt crisp bodies with not a single hair

and no one cares

no leader brave enough

cough cough

president bush or tony blair

doesnt matter no one cares

but i do and you could too

A very powerful poem on a very daunting topic. What is happening in Darfur, Kenya, Zimbabwe and even my home, South Africa, is a disgrace. If only there were more people like you, who see the pain and heartache that is happening, then maybe things would get better...
