MRS: BROWN

MRS: BROWN

A Poem by P.J. Coogan
"

ITS A POEM I WROTE AS I WENT THROUGH COLD TURKEY FROM HEROIN AND METHADONE, I DID A BIT ONE DAY THEN A BIT ANOTHER, AS I COULDNT BE ARSED AND HAD A LIMITED AMOUT OF CONCENTRATION. ENDED UP TAKING FOUR WEEKS TO END. I WAS GOING TO CHANGE IT BUT I WANTED TO

"

              MRS. BROWN

My life is like a time bomb ticking inside me,

To see her one last time to get some reprieve,

I miss your love just one last hug,

One more night of paid for love,

Oh how I love you Mrs. Brown,

Been from town to town just to find you,

So we can both be in my arms, we both slide down,

And I feel like shite for one last night,

Warm and stiff legs I feel right,

It’s right but so wrong,

Different lyrics same song,

It gets me down but you know I love you,

My dear old lover Mrs brown,

But then without warning,

You’ve crept away by the morning,

you know I’ve no money so the TV I’m pawning,

its sad yet so funny,

I know you don’t love me,

and you just want my money.

It’s as mad as it sounds,

Past the hopes and the frowns,

I know your the devil,

But I love you Misss. Brown,

Yes its madness and sometimes sadness,

But just one last night,

To make me feel fine,

Yes it is; it’s that old line,

Said from Joe through to Sally,

Just mumbled out words,

Face down in an alley,

Deprived of your love,

Eyes seem dead in our faces,

We know that you travel,

And seen all sorts of places,

A promiscuous lady,

See’s no sex, age or races,

A tail of destruction,

left behind through the ages,

but still; nothing never changes,

you’re loved and you’re hated,

just look at our faces surely aging,

I love you and hate you,

I’m so sick and so down,

I want to escape,

 how I love Mrs. Brown,

but I need your love it cannot hide,

to escape a train wreck that I call life,

I’m Dr. Jekyll I’m Mr. Hyde,

They both compete for your love,

All inside of my mind,

Both craving love ignoring hindsight,

both need your release,

To get me some peace,

Will this battle inside me ever seize,

F**k you look Mrs. Brown,

I’ve enjoyed the show,

But now we both know,

It’s my time to go,

will we meet again?,

I honestly don’t know,

But since I’m being honest,

I don’t f*****g hope so!
