Winter Spring

She's a little bit older
A lot wiser
Still the boys whistle
When she sashays by

He's a little bit younger
A  bit naive
She captivates
When she smiles

He sing's "Maggie May"
When they wake
She smiles through tears

A Winter-Spring relationship
Can never last
She will get old
He will get wise

She sings "Time After Time"
When she tells him goodbye

not much - just heard someone talking about 'Cougars".. and thinking how it is so accepted for older men to have a younger woman but many women involved with younger men are looked down upon .. just not much here... my mind is not on poetry at this time

well observed poetic interpretation~ society is the one that divides everything into such tiny compartments that we can't even differentiate our own thoughts from what is fed us through mediaexploitation~
I can tell you from a personal perspective that the whole cougar ideal has been a pain in my a@@~ nothing like getting hit on by boys younger than my daghters *just wrong~gag*

I never looked down on it, I believe it was a fantasy at one time until I got old. They even made movies with cougars and younger guys. I forget the titles now . I like your poem it has wit and it has a nice flow and a message about age. I wonder if they all have to end that way though. Excellent write.
