The image of the bruising reflects energy and erotic pleasures, the shell of a body... seems a bit of a brittle image -- and then, was the 'beating' heart intended as a play on the bruising? lol Purple is a very arousing colour for me.... deep dreams... yes, for sure... deep and accompanied by bruises... I'm just rambling lol
Purple is my favorite color. I think the old fashined Iris is one of my favorite flowers because of that...oooo velvet petals so lush and dark and dreamy! I can't wait until mine blooms!
I was once in the art gallery of Philadelphia with a best friend and there was this vivid picture of a More, it look so real with details so grand that you could see the veins in his wrist and neck. It was stunning to me, then my friend showed me his favorite painting. God it was like the artist just tossed paint at the canvas, it had no logic to it, no pattern, no detail just splashes of colors that didn't match I thought it was horrible.
All poems don't fit into one category to be considered good, as a reader I don't look for meter, I don't even care if it rhymes or if all of the poem makes sense to me. No for me I look for enlightenment, entertainment, or something just to make me think or remember.
Your poem above makes me remember someone I love very deeply and how I felt when she was with me, how I slept like I was under anesthetics, how a single kiss from her made me see colors that didn't even exist. If one looks at your poem as a whole it is about love and it is about royal love which to me means a love that is deeper than the flesh. This is why I like this poem remember beauty is in the eye of the beholder and not always in the eye of the creator.
Sometimes i feel like an alien in a strange land..can you relate?
I love people and friends are just that to me , friends-if you request me as a friend it would be nice if you read something I have .. more..
