Emeralds Of Empathy

Emeralds Of Empathy

A Poem by Chloe..Across the Universe

She reads..eyes see
Mind wanders to
Places never seen
Across the Universe

She feels sunlight upon her
Warming her soul
Smiles as a snowflake
Kisses her cheek, a raindrop- cleansing

She dances 'round a fire
Embers glow bright
Golden orange- glow
Making her heart sing

Watching in awe she sees
A baby take it's first breath
Tears gather as she sees-
Babe taken too soon to Heavenly Gates

Neath' the twinkling stars
The wind carries her
With gentle ease
Across distant shores

Wind unwhirls - she is
Planted upon solid ground
Frozen and cold
Feelings catch- someone's pain?

Pain stings-razor cuts
Bleeding upon her sleeve
Please, please there
Is another, yes, another way

Write it- write it
The pain, write it away
Press lead hard against paper
Strike the keys let words bleed it away

Within her she feels that ache
Of a first broken-heart
Pain so deep
Cutting like broken glass

The smell of daffodils-
She senses a first love
A first kiss , magical
As an eagle soars-lavender scattered skies

She reads, sees, feels
Feelings overwhelm
Seeing the Planet's beauty
Through the eyes of a poet

For those who see Nature
May it always be
Those who grieve
Tears pray dry in light of day

Young lovers, old
May love stay true, strong
Never may there be a wrong turn
Love is a gift, embrace

Young, old, happy, sad
Shine on- your colors are golden
Your feelings are mine- through it all
Love transcends space and time

Chloe..Across the Universe
Have been reading many wonderful poems/stories .. this is not grand but i wrote and writing something not so grand is better than nothing.. 'nothin' from nothin' leaves nothin'..(song popped in) Wrote this with a house full of noisy people and barking dogs... sorry for the quality- i know it isn't stereophonic more mono . Still I take something with me from everything I read all your words they do touch me .. I see and feel ... thank you all .

So a year ago i wrote this - not much since.... someone tell me please how to rid one's self of writer's block??

"Write it- write it
The pain, write it away
Press lead hard against paper
Strike the keys let words bleed it away"

The most powerful stanza in the poem...all the others rotate around it..it could be a refrain.

"Your feelings are mine- through it all
Love transcends space and time "

perfect ending for this poem......... :-)

There are some great talents on this site, some have works that touch me deeper than others, still some I find to be poetic Gods in their style and delivery. Reading frees our mind to fly off to distant lands we may never get to physically, we can live through the eyes and mind of the author. Your poems explores many things that affect our life. You are right, writing something is better than writing nothing and what you wrote has meaning. Enjoyed.

It seems (some) poets pick up on a whole lot more than the rest of the world... feel other's emotions more accutely as well. Just a general observation in agreement with your poem and author's note. Very touching piece that does seem to the reader from place to place, gathering the emotions of life. Well done.

Dear Friend!

One who has the ability to relate so vividly to the feelings of others, to embrace their emotions and tuck it within the folds of "self" is a special creation...that which I consider to be an "empath". Those who literally feel the joy and pain of another endures the good and bad of it, of which you so poignantly write of in this poem.

I see it all......feel it all, as you do! We attempt to keep a balance so that we become able to function in our own right, but this is often a formidable task, and then one feels the weight of the world on their shoulders.

You are sensitive, and loving and for these traits you are held dear to my heart!

Thank you for sharing parts of yourself with us!!! You are SPECIAL!!

A sense of traveling the inner and outer worlds blends peacefully throughout this revealing piece of exploration, connection and compassion.

Bottled up feelings eventually erupt with so many volatile components... let it flow like a river so it has somewhere to travel and thin out the pain. I think this is a great journey into the human psyche and just how fragile it is.
