Panic At The Disco

Panic At The Disco

A Poem by Chloe..Across the Universe
"

Desperate times call for desperate measures...

"
"Panic at the disco"
ball of broken glass
falls-" Smithereens"

"Blood on the dance floor"
"Mary Magdaline" weeps-
"Dying Fetus"
as Jesus looks on

"Emilee Autumn" wishes for Spring
finds only a" Cold-play"-
a" Rush" of blood to the head

"Snoop Dogg" howls in pain
as "The Beatles" scurry about
gathering spilled blood
like" Rolling Stones"

A "Clash"- "Dead Kennedys"
as "Guns n' Roses" explode
"Jackson" turns "Browne"

"The Beach Boys" singing, teach
your children well
surf in on" Cranberries"-
"Simply Red"

"Iggy Pop"(s)
as "Don McClean" sings-
Bye bye Miss American Pie
oh so softly...
the day the music died

Author's Note

Chloe..Across the Universe
This is another sort of nonsense poem. I see there is a category called nonsense...
Having no inspiration I was thinking of bands , they are in parenthesis, and so this came about -also it is my attempt , small one, at expressing my sorrow for the day the music died.
Say anything... like that movie?John Cussack and Ione Skye (the singer Donovan's daughter)

Dancing sure sounds dangerous! I know of no other artist who left such an imprint on music in so short a time as Buddy Holly. Who knows what he would've written if he hadn't died.

I too have sorrow for the day the music died, keep hoping someone will revive it!
I enjoyed all the references to music, and muscians. Put a smile on my face.

whimsical and cleverly turned out... you didn't need those extra quotations... I spotted them all. the instinctive pulse of music throbs in time to the heart as you read. well done!

It's definitely entertaining to read and does bring on memories and makes one think. I would not catagorize that as nonsense. Nice piece!

I wouldn't call it no nonsense... to me it really defines how the music businesses focusing more on image has caused the music to lose meaning. Very creative using bands in the description.
