get the picture contest

The sky is lovely I say, lavender and gray
I am pretty high up
Jump

There is a crowd gathering below
laughing and joking
chanting, "Jump"

I am so sick of floating with the rest
within a  cesspool of society's scum
Jump

What good is life when no one cares
shares, and I'm hungry
Jump

I did climb a long way up
the elevator failed
Jump

The crowds fired up
this is a good show
Jump

Jump
I think of the word for a second
"Jump"

Odd word after it has been
said a time or three
Jump

The crowd screams at me
a sea of nameless faces
with no heart, direction


I have always been a crowd please-r
give them what they want, blood and guts

I looked at this contest but I drew a blank from the picture. I still draw a blank! I wonder if the crowds ever really yelled jump at someone, can you imagine doing that? For awhile I thought she wasn't going to jump but I am glad it wasn't an all happy ending but I also hoped she wouldn't listen to them. I don't know the song that was playing in your mind while writing this but I did enjoy the poem!

I was in a skyscaper on the 37th floor and walked out onto the balcony. It was windy and I could feel the building moving...no way in hell was I going close to the railing! Cars look like small ants from up that high. I have a fear of heights. And one would have that loooong fall to contemplate one's decision. No, if I was going to do myself in...I'd choose a nice painless, frightless way to die...sleeping pills and whiskey most likely. But I like the poem nonetheless, it's a great piece!
