I liked this! Love may be a stable/shaky thing. But the true adventure starts when you're both on the ship when the anchor gets yanked and ya gotta ride those storms out together.
And even if one ship floats away and you're not on it, there's always one with a bigger anchor to go exploring! :)
That's true love...knowing when to hold tight...and knowing when to let go. Of only more people could see the wisdom in this.

What a great poem filled with analogies that fit perfectly. the ship in safe harbor or at sea, tossed and turned with each storm, will it survive, or drift of into oblivion. Such is love.

"A ship anchored and harbored
at dock - yet at anytime without
notice the anchor may be hoisted"
A bit of a bleak description, but certainly appropos in our universe of 50% of marriages ending in divorce....and many love affairs evaporating over time. Your images are vivid and well written, Chloe. Good one. Lydi**

Thank you Lydia it seems as if so many I know are divorced or have broken up thank you for reading
I always pretend to offer ... light and unburdened affairs... footloose and fancy free romances with out obligation or preambulation....
But usually I fall way short of providing love such that or as expressed here...
then I have to run far away.
Great Poem, just as I expect from old rockers like you.
Yes...love of many things cannot be stagnant or permanent....I like the description and the imagery in this piece. Love is to be loved really but also to part ways sometimes. Thank you for sharing.
So it is, Chloe, so it is.
But "forever" is a concept beyond human understanding...you might know my Zen feelings about all things being impermanant.. all things including love..which must constantly be in flux, to grow, and stay healthy.
I'll just say, I liked the poem.. :-)
Sometimes i feel like an alien in a strange land..can you relate?
I love people and friends are just that to me , friends-if you request me as a friend it would be nice if you read something I have .. more..
