I Wrote a Poem For You

My lack of writing has forced me to write this - have a barf -- bag on hand!

I wrote a poem for you
really I did but the dog
ate it
every last word
and said, ' Yum, yum'

I wrote a poem for you
honestly I did but I spilled
my drink on it, it soaked it up
every last word -blurred vision

I wrote a poem for you
this is the truth
but the wind blew it away
the tattered page tumbling through the air

I wrote a poem for you
of this I tell no lie
but I dropped my f*g on it
burned to ashes - garish- gray

I wrote no poem for you
I told a little tale
I hope this doesn't send me to hell

Oh well

Does anyone hear bells?

I love this. it rings of style and humor, and voice, I wrote a poem for you" in essense the catch line is the muse. the term plays off the idea which gives the different scenerios that light up the readers heart in catchy yet whimsical ways. i found myself tickled by the idea, because it takes the sense of being a poet brings it to life, bringing the idea of sentimental value, and the heart
