Sadness
hello again
no, it's ok you didn't knock
you're an old friend
just walk right in

There's some chowder on the stove
would you like a bowl?
me either, not much of an appetite myself
i hate to sound rude but
how long are you staying?

See there's thing's i need to do
and you're, well you're in the way
could you please leave
come back another day?

My heart is broken
my eyes are red
today as tomorrow
i won't get out of this bed

Sadness
please don't take this the wrong way
i know i bid you
will you please leave
please go
pack your things

Yes, i promise i will stop crying if you go
one thing
should i call please ignore the ring
i am no one of consequence
so please, be on your way

This was such a heartbreaking yet truthful piece. You conveyed the desperation and loneliness really well, in particular through the way in which your character reacted to the sadness. The second stanza was my favourite in the whole poem! I don't know what it is that I liked about it, but I guess in a way it highlighted the fact that this person was so familiar with sadness, as if it was nothing new, and was to be expected.
Very nicely written. Well done,

You shifted the expression of sadness into a sublime quality - this poem was excellent written in clear images yet complex and deep. I missed your poetry, dear. Hugs. L.

This was a write from the heart. Your thoughts may not seem like much, mere words.. But they are as true as any write one puts forth.. A poem of many colors..

wow, chloe, i must say, the flow and form are nicely done, and your words pull the readers heartstrings,
the voice stands out in my opinion, its convicting at describing truth in metaphor, I loved the analogies
as well as the pasing of time, the ending is perfect, impressive and focused artwork.

Love the emotion in this poem. I like how you used sadness and made it almost like a person. Someone or something that just creeps in and doesn't leave. I'm sure a lot of people could relate to this piece. Very well written and great poem! :)
