I'm sure heroin was the lady that brought him to his knees... if Courtney introduced it to him, I'll never know, but he's one of many lovely artists who fall too fast and too soon while wrapped up in everything money can buy. I just saw her the other day in Bazaar or Vogue--one of those high fashion mags and she was wearing a Chanel outfit. That's like putting pearls on pigs. lol. Nirvana is one of my fav bands. The guy was gifted (so was dave grohl). Unplugged is one hell of a show too, maybe only slightly better by pulse or perhaps a pumpkins gig.
